| Susanna has
been going by the single name for many years now; as lead singer/songwriter and core
of the pop/rock/spirit-filled rock band Chakra Bleu she's been inspiring
people for even longer. [From her website]: "Fascinated by the
guitar, her parents guided her into guitar lessons in the first grade. The first songs she
learned to strum were 'Three Blind Mice', and 'We Are One In The Spirit.'
... She wrote her first songs in seventh grade and [then] learned how to manage fairly
well on a piano [and] electric bass. ... Her favorite band to listen to in college was
B-52's because they broke all the rules in the 'no-no's' of music theory. [After a spell
traveling Europe] ... and playing a bit in country and Top-40 cover bands, she moved to
Nashville - swearing that she'd NEVER play in another cover band! [So] she formed
her own band, playing ... Americana, when Americana wasn't cool.
Susanna formed Chakra Bleu to incorporate upon an expansive type of
pop/rock music that would allow more freedom to pen more thought-provoking material that
could provide an empowering experience for the listeners. ... When she's on stage, you can
feel her full presence. A passionate, purposeful and genuine sincerity eminate from her
persona at the Chakra Bleu shows. Through her lyrics and intention, Susanna strives to
remind people of their self worth, inner beauty and Inherent Joy that so often is covered
and forgotten by the complexities experienced in life. ..." |
A native Californian,
Jon Robbin moved to Nashville in 1984. For years before that, he played guitar
and wrote songs in a number of country bands in the San Francisco Bay Area. In the late
1970's, he began sending his songs to publishers on Music Row, often receiving positive
responses, or single song contracts. After arriving in Nashville, Jon worked at his trade,
setting aside time for writing and recording demos. In 1988, he met Barry and Jewel Coburn
who were starting a new publishing company, Ten Ten Music. Jewel invited
him to submit his songs, which he did for the next several years. In 1993, I
Guess You Had To Be There was recorded by Lorrie Morgan, which went to
the Top Ten. He was signed to Ten Ten Music and went on to have more singles and album
cuts, including "I Breathe In, I Breathe Out," his
first #1 song. Jon parted ways with Ten Ten in 2000. For several
years he wrote songs and had them pitched by an independent plugger. In 2003 he joined Writer
Zone Music as an owner and writer. DISCOGRAPHY: "I Guess You Had To Be There" (1993) - Lorrie Morgan (Top Ten,
